BTCCSquare news:

SEC Chair Paul Atkins has quashed speculation about a potential merger between the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. In an interview with Fox Business, Atkins emphasized collaboration over consolidation, stating the agencies are working "hand in glove" on digital asset oversight. The WHITE House has set a 2025 deadline for passing the Market Structure Bill, which Atkins urged lawmakers to prioritize.

While the SEC and CFTC plan a joint roundtable on September 29, Atkins made clear his focus remains on regulatory clarity rather than organizational restructuring. "My hands are full right now," he remarked, acknowledging the unique challenges posed by cryptocurrency markets. The comments come as both agencies face increasing pressure to establish coherent frameworks for digital assets.
